MARSDEN, Marlene June - Peacefully, on September 21, 2026, at St Andrews Home and Hospital, Dunedin, as the result of a stroke; aged 76 years.
Dearly loved wife of the late Ian Jenner, much loved daughter of the late Fred and Shirley Orange, loved sister and sister-in-law of David and Dorothy, and the late Gary, aunty of Laura, and Bradley; Geoffrey, and Martin.
A special thank you to Marlene's friends in Lawrence who have supported her through some difficult times and welcomed her into their community and hearts.
In accordance with Marlene's wishes, a private celebration will be held.

Well Marl, over our 40 years of friendship, we enjoyed some great times of laughter and fun with all the hijinks that we got up to. The squash tournaments and national events that we participated in where we had highs and lows. The wonderful mid winter Christmas functions that were held on the mountain on a regular basis where we got to know your other friends and acquaintance's were fantastic. Also the time spent volunteering at Ironman and all the rugby dinners are remembered fondly. You will always be remembered for your laughter, love of life and cheekiness. Goodbye Marlene and rest in peace.
Well Marl, I thought we might have had many more years yet, but not to be. Over our 44 years of friendship, didn’t we enjoy some great times of laughter, camaraderie and sometimes tears. The squash tournaments, yachting, skiing, caravanning, 20yrs as Ironman volunteers, travelling, Waihaha, dinner parties and celebrating milestones. Thank you for waiting for us to get to Dunedin to say our farewells. You will always be treasured and remembered. Goodbye my little friend. P XX
Well Marlene it’s a beautiful day in Lawrence as we right this tribute to you. The Magnolias and many other spring flowers at your home along with all the other colours of spring look magnificent. Beryl and Ann’marie have been pulling the weeds and Racy is doing the lawns and sprayed the edges. We will continue to look after the place until further notice. We have enjoyed your company, your drop-in, drinks and nibbles and we’re looking forward to another X mass day with you. The last time we were wth you at your place you were starting to plan and look forward to the future. This was quite a change from the stressful times you had had in the recent past. You were a great friend and a pleasure to be around. Ps, David & Dorothy are doing a great job for you. God bless ☀️
It is very sad that we have lost a Valuable Club member and Dear Friend to us all. Marlene and Ian came into our lives some 4 or so years ago and immediately became involved in the Lawrence community. Marlene was a very capable, organised secretary (plus more) of the Lawrence Car Club. You were a fun loving person Marlene, who gave your time freely. We have been privileged to have had you with us and will miss you. Rest in peace Marlene, from the Lawrence Car Club. Gordon Duthie
